This guide therefore distinguishes the broad playable area from neighbouring Little Seoul, Vespucci, Vespucci Canals and La Puerta rather than treating every nearby landmark as part of Puerto Del Sol.

Overview

Puerto Del Sol is a wealthy waterfront district on the western side of Los Santos. Its identity comes from three linked features: a marina for private boats and yachts, a heliport operated by Higgins Helitours, and a line of hotels, apartments and luxury-facing businesses along the waterfront. It is one of the city’s most useful transport-oriented locations, since Story Mode characters can buy both a boat dock and a helicopter storage property here.

The district is visually associated with Vespucci, but its exact administrative label is not presented consistently. One major GTA reference describes Puerto Del Sol as a neighbourhood in Vespucci, bordered by Vespucci Canals, Little Seoul and La Puerta. Another describes it as an unincorporated town officially located within La Puerta. The safest in-game description is therefore Puerto Del Sol, the marina and heliport waterfront between Vespucci Canals, Little Seoul and La Puerta, without extending the area to the separate Puerto Del Sol Station in Little Seoul.

Marina and yacht waterfront

The marina is the core of Puerto Del Sol. It contains multiple jetties and mooring areas, with yachts, speedboats and dinghies appearing around the docks. The area is deliberately designed to look like a wealthy leisure harbour rather than a commercial cargo port. One reference description divides the waterfront into three principal dock areas: a western hotel-side dock, a northern dock associated with the yacht club, and an eastern dock connected with Higgins Helitours and the heliport.

Puerto Del Sol Marina

In Story Mode, the marina is a purchasable vehicle-storage property. It costs $75,000, becomes available after Nervous Ron, and may be bought by Michael, Franklin or Trevor. The important benefit is boat storage. Each protagonist can own a dock there simultaneously, so buying the property with one character does not remove it from the others’ property options.

The marina is not merely decorative in GTA Online. It appears in the Contract-era Investigation: The Marina, where the player searches for a green Lampadati Toro, uses it to trace a superyacht and boards the yacht to recover evidence. That mission is a GTA Online activity and should not be confused with Story Mode content.

Puerto Del Sol Yacht Club

The yacht club is the district’s most obvious symbol of exclusivity. It is associated with wealthy visitors, yachts and luxury leisure culture. It functions primarily as an environmental landmark in Story Mode, although it becomes an active destination in GTA Online missions and vehicle-delivery activities.

A Yacht Club location is also used by the GTA Online Casino Work mission Under the Influence as one of the possible vehicle-pickup locations. The mission’s Puerto Del Sol version uses a Vagner, while the other possible pickup sites use different cars.

Status notes: The marina is purchasable in Story Mode. The yacht club and the other named waterfront businesses are principally scenery, mission locations or service references rather than ordinary player-operated shops.

Vespucci Helipad and air services

The Vespucci Helipad stands on Shank Street at the eastern side of the waterfront. It contains several helipads, a hangar or warehouse structure and access points connecting the air facility with the marina-side water. The location is marked by Higgins Helitours branding, and Pegasus Concierge is also represented at the site.

Story Mode function

The helipad is a purchasable property for Michael and Franklin.

To acquire it, switch to Michael or Franklin, approach the property’s sale marker and purchase it when the property is available. Stored or purchased helicopters can then be selected from the helipad’s storage system. Michael and Franklin use separate storage positions. Trevor is excluded because his aviation storage is based at Sandy Shores Airfield.

The helipad is also useful even before purchase because helicopters may appear there. In GTA Online, the site can serve as a helicopter delivery or spawn location, and aircraft availability can depend on rank, vehicle ownership and the relevant update or platform version.

Higgins Helitours

Higgins Helitours is a recurring GTA company that appears in several games. In GTA V it occupies the Vespucci Helipad, but Story Mode does not provide a conventional purchasable sightseeing tour from the building. The company’s presence is mainly communicated through signage, the helipad infrastructure and helicopter activity.

GTA Online differences

These Online systems should not be projected backwards into Story Mode. In particular, Story Mode does not turn Higgins Helitours into a functioning tour business.

KOI Retreat & Spa

KOI Retreat & Spa sits at the corner of Bay City Avenue and Tug Street. Its Japanese-influenced architecture and small car park make it easy to identify when travelling along the marina-side roads. It has no Story Mode mission function and cannot be entered. The location is based on the former Benihana Marina del Rey in California, according to the location reference that documents the building’s inspiration.

Vista Del Mar Apartments

Vista Del Mar Apartments is a named residential building within the district. It contributes to Puerto Del Sol’s hotel-and-apartment character but is not documented as a purchasable Story Mode safehouse or a generally accessible apartment interior.

0115 Bay City Avenue

0115 Bay City Avenue is a named address and background landmark. It is useful for identifying the hotel and waterfront block but should not be confused with a player property.

The Viceroy

The Viceroy is listed among Puerto Del Sol’s named businesses or establishments. It is primarily a setting detail and does not function like a Story Mode shop, restaurant or property-management business.

The first three are especially useful when exploring the actual waterfront and heliport. Bay City Avenue is also important because KOI Retreat & Spa is located at its junction with Tug Street. Other road lists place Innocence Boulevard, Palomino Avenue, Rub Street and South Rockford Drive within the broader Puerto Del Sol road network, although some stretches pass through or directly beside neighbouring administrative areas.

Practical routes

By water

The marina is easiest to recognise from the sea. Look for clustered private craft, jetties and the yacht-club waterfront. The helipad’s floating dock and boat-ramp area provide an additional water-level landmark.

Puerto Del Sol Station is separate

The name causes frequent confusion. Puerto Del Sol Station is a Los Santos Transit subway station in Little Seoul, on Innocence Boulevard. It has two tracks and connects the wider transit network, with LSIA Parking Station and Strawberry Station listed as its adjacent stops in the relevant directions.

It is not the marina’s own station and should not be listed as a facility inside the waterfront district. The station is nevertheless the most relevant public-transport landmark for reaching the general area.

Puerto Del Sol does not have a documented resident character comparable to Michael in Rockford Hills or Trevor in Sandy Shores. Its people are mainly environmental civilians:

The area is not established as a gang territory. Its visual language is wealth, tourism and private transport rather than street-gang control. Security becomes more important during mission instances, particularly GTA Online’s marina investigation, where two guards patrol the docks and become hostile if the player steals the target boat or threatens them with a firearm.

Puerto Del Sol’s name translates roughly as “port of the sun”, matching its bright coastal setting and luxury-marina identity. Its urban design is strongly based on Marina del Rey, the Los Angeles waterfront community known for yacht basins, leisure boating, hotels and affluent waterfront development.

KOI Retreat & Spa has a more specific real-world connection. Its Japanese-style presentation is based on the former Benihana Marina del Rey, which occupied a waterfront site before being demolished and replaced by an apartment development.

The area also continues the series’ use of transport companies as environmental world-building. Higgins Helitours appeared in earlier GTA titles, but in GTA V it is less a tour activity than a visible corporate presence around a functional-looking heliport.
