Fort Zancudo

Fort Zancudo is a restricted military installation on the western side of Blaine County. It contains an airbase, runways, military buildings, vehicle areas, aircraft and heavily armed security; entering without authorized access normally produces a major wanted response.

Overview

Fort Zancudo is San Andreas’ principal military installation and the only conventional military base in Grand Theft Auto V. It occupies a large, restricted compound in western Blaine County, beside Lago Zancudo and the Zancudo River, below Mount Josiah and immediately west of the Great Ocean Highway. Its runway, hangars, patrol roads, military vehicles and air-defence response make it one of the most dangerous places to enter in free roam.

The base is more than a single runway or a small “army camp”. Its broader location includes the fenced military compound, the airfield, aircraft and vehicle areas, access roads, perimeter facilities, the fire station, and nearby geographic features that are often incorrectly treated as part of the base itself. Lago Zancudo, Zancudo River, Mount Josiah, North Chumash and the surrounding roads are neighbouring areas, not interchangeable names for Fort Zancudo.
