Overview

Blaine County is the rural half of *Grand Theft Auto V*’s southern San Andreas map. It lies north of Los Santos County and contains far more than the familiar desert around Sandy Shores. Its boundaries encompass coastal woodland, high mountains, agricultural land, the Alamo Sea, oil fields, several settlements, military and prison facilities, airfields, industrial sites and long stretches of open wilderness.

The county is deliberately uneven in character. Sandy Shores is a sun-baked, decaying settlement beside the Alamo Sea. Grapeseed is a farming community spread across the eastern shore. Paleto Bay is a small northern coastal town backed by forest and Mount Chiliad. Between them are Harmony, Stab City, North Chumash, Galilee, Cape Catfish, Dignity Village and numerous named natural or industrial areas.

Blaine County is also the centre of Trevor Philips’ Story Mode arc. His trailer, airfield and business interests provide the player’s main base in the region, while the county’s gangs, farms, biker camps and back-country roads form the setting for many of the game’s missions and random encounters.
