Overview

The Alamo Sea is a large inland salt lake in central Blaine County, San Andreas. It is not simply a scenic body of water between Sandy Shores and Grapeseed. The wider Alamo Sea area includes an extensive shoreline, bays, marshy inlets, agricultural land, airfields, industrial sites and the settlements that face the lake.

In practical terms, the lake forms the centre of a rural network linking Sandy Shores, Grapeseed, Stab City, McKenzie Field and the surrounding Grand Senora Desert. It is also one of the most important areas in Trevor Philips’s Story Mode arc. Trevor’s trailer, business interests, airfield operations and several of his early missions are all based around the southern and eastern sides of the lake.

The Alamo Sea is loosely modelled on California’s Salton Sea, particularly its dry, isolated shoreline, agricultural surroundings, declining resort-town atmosphere and mixture of recreation, poverty and criminal activity. Development accounts for GTA V also identify the Salton Sea region as an influence on Trevor’s setting.
