Overview

Cypress Flats is one of Los Santos’s largest industrial neighbourhoods. It occupies the eastern side of the city, between the Los Santos River and the Elysian Fields Freeway, and is built around factories, warehouses, freight infrastructure and heavy-industry compounds rather than homes or ordinary high-street shops.

It is easy to underestimate the district because many players use “Cypress Flats” to mean the central stretch around Popular Street. In game terms, however, the named area is broader. It includes the industrial blocks around Popular Street, the Raven Abattoir, the East Los Santos Foundry, major warehouse sites, the Ammu-Nation at El Rancho Boulevard, and the roads leading down towards Terminal and Elysian Island. It also reaches towards the boundaries of La Mesa, Rancho, Banning, El Burro Heights and Murrieta Heights.

Cypress Flats is important in Story Mode for two reasons. First, it is the location of the Raven Abattoir, where Michael is held during Fresh Meat. Secondly, the East Los Santos Foundry is used during The Third Way, the ending in which Franklin, Michael and Trevor make their final stand against their enemies. The district’s industrial setting makes it a natural location for kidnappings, gang conflicts, heavy vehicles and large-scale shoot-outs.
