Overview
Textile City is a compact commercial neighbourhood in Downtown Los Santos, built around clothing outlets, wholesale shops, fabric warehouses and a busy open-air shopping alley. It is one of the smallest named districts in Los Santos, but its narrow streets and dense shopfronts make it more visually distinctive than its size suggests.
The district is not simply the area around Simmet Alley. Its wider boundaries include the streets, bus centre, theatres, railway facilities, warehouses and commercial buildings surrounding the market. In the game’s neighbourhood hierarchy, Textile City is part of Downtown Los Santos, rather than East Los Santos or Mission Row. It borders Alta, Mission Row, Pillbox Hill and La Mesa.
Textile City is mainly a world-building location in Story Mode. It has one important mission appearance, a purchasable theatre, collectibles and a large number of named but generally non-enterable businesses. GTA Online gives the area more practical uses through the Document Forgery Office, The Contract mission content and later online properties.
