Overview

Chumash is a wealthy coastal town on the western edge of Los Santos County. It lies along the Great Ocean Highway, between the Pacific Ocean and the slopes of Banham Canyon, and is presented as a Malibu-inspired community of beach houses, designer shops, cafés and oceanfront property. The town is small in physical area but unusually dense in named businesses and decorative storefronts.

Its most important Story Mode role is in By the Book, where Michael De Santa and Dave Norton observe a party from the hills above the town while searching for Tahir Javan. Outside that mission, Chumash is useful as a highway stop, a source of weapons and clothing, a location for random events and a convenient western gateway between Los Santos and Blaine County.
