Overview
Los Santos County is the southern county of San Andreas in Grand Theft Auto V. It is not simply another name for the city of Los Santos. The county contains the enormous City of Los Santos, the incorporated communities of Davis, Del Perro and Rockford Hills, the town of Chumash, extensive coastal and mountain country, vineyards, wind farms, reservoirs, rural roads and a large amount of wilderness.
The county is separated from Blaine County to the north by the Route 68 area. In practical gameplay terms, the Los Santos County portion of the map is the dense southern and south-western half of the mainland, while Blaine County occupies most of the rural north. The two counties share roads, police activity and several cross-county journeys, but they are separate places in the game’s geography.
The city of Los Santos is the county seat and its dominant urban centre. However, treating the entire county as “Los Santos city” hides some of the most useful and distinctive areas: the Tongva hills, Banham Canyon, the Palomino Highlands, the Land Act Reservoir, Great Chaparral and the coast around Chumash all belong to the wider county setting.
